ReskinFactory

Eight questions, eight straight answers

The questions every foreign founder asks before signing an Indonesia contract.

If your question is not here, send it to desk@reskinfactory.com. You will get a written answer the same day, not a sales call.

How long does PSE registration take for a foreign app or game?

Six to twelve weeks, if nothing goes wrong. Foreign private electronic system operators (PSE Lingkup Privat) must register before serving Indonesian users, and the bottleneck is rarely the form - it is the sworn translations, the certified corporate documents, the local contact path, and the data-handling commitments that have to be ready and consistent at submission. We prepare the dossier and stand in as the local contact, so your team is never the document owner waiting on a Jakarta notary.

Do we need an Indonesian legal entity to publish a game under Perpres 19/2024?

In practice, yes. The regulation pushes foreign game publishers toward a local legal presence, and the only two real paths are establishing a PT in Indonesia or partnering with a local operator that fronts the entity, the tax obligations, and the IGRS classification. Most foreign studios start with the operator partnership for the first eighteen months and graduate to a PT once Indonesia revenue makes the entity worth running.

Why not use AI translation only and skip the localization operator?

Because Indonesian users detect AI translation in about three hundred milliseconds, and the regulator detects it in zero. AI handles the surface words. It does not handle PSE filings, IGRS classification, payment integration, regional creator partnerships, modesty review, takedown response, or LiveOps timing around Ramadan and Lebaran. Mabar versus Bermain Bersama is the difference between a casual game that feels Indonesian and a casual game that feels translated.

How is QRIS different from credit-card payment, and why does it matter?

Card-only checkout will leak the majority of your Indonesian conversion. Credit-card penetration is thin and skewed to a small top segment. QRIS is the central QR standard, interoperable across every major Indonesian wallet and bank, and pairing it with two or three dominant wallets typically captures eighty-plus percent of digital paying users at lower acquisition cost and lower refund friction than card-only flows.

How does ReskinFactory price work and when does revenue share apply?

Three tiers. Revenue share only when we carry operating risk. Market Entry Sprint is fixed setup plus a 90-day retainer. Launch Operator adds eight to twelve percent of Indonesia net revenue when we run launch operations. Local Publishing Desk takes twenty-five to thirty-five percent of net revenue, with optional UA recoup, when we are carrying market risk and running the desk. Translation-only work never carries revenue share, ever.

What does ImajidigiStudio bring that pure localization vendors do not?

The deliverables your translation vendor cannot ship. PT Imaji Nusantara Karisma, operating as ImajidigiStudio in Jakarta, builds the things Indonesian retail and IP partners actually expect at launch: branded games, AR card collections, 3D animation, motion and object detection, web games, social storytelling, and on-ground activations. We have done this for Mobile Legends, Doraemon, Hot Wheels, Upin Ipin, Boboiboy, and twenty-two other IPs you would recognize.

Can ReskinFactory help with takedown notices and content moderation?

Yes, and this is one of the highest-leverage things a local desk does for you. PSE rules create regulator-response, takedown, and complaint obligations on tight timelines, often shorter than a foreign legal team can clear. Local Publishing Desk and Launch Operator scopes include moderation routing, Indonesian-language complaint handling, and regulator-facing documentation. Acting as the registered local contact compresses the time from notice to resolution from days into hours.

Do you handle ASO and user acquisition or only compliance?

Both, because compliance without growth leaves your launch legal but invisible. Compliance is the access layer. ASO, store experiments, creator partnerships, community, retention, and LiveOps are where Indonesia revenue is actually won. We run both because separating them is the single most reliable way to underperform in this market.

Still deciding

The Market Entry Sprint is designed to be the lowest-risk way to test Indonesia readiness.

Ninety days, fixed scope, paid setup, no revenue share. If the data says Indonesia is not ready, you stop after the sprint. If it is, the operator and publishing tiers are sized to scale.
